The Why Behind Simunye

My name is Luna and I am the founder and facilitator of Simunye Soulworks. Sound healing and connecting with spirituality changed the trajectory of my life in a time when I was lost, confused and dealing with immense emotional and physical pain from complex trauma. I have since been on a healing journey of expanding my spiritual, holistic, scientific knowledge and experience, to not only aid myself in healing and growing but to eventually be able to share in a community of supportive healing with others.  I am so very excited and grateful to embark on this exciting journey of connecting and sharing in the medicine of sound to find balance and healing within ourselves together in community. I have recently completed my certification as a Holisic Integrated Creative Arts Therapist - a journey which has taken me to a whole new level on my understanding of the way we all hold within us the key to heal and expand and how creativity can help us deeply connect to this inner power.

The holistic tools that I share and the space that I hold is all aimed to facilitate your deepest relaxation and connection with yourself. This ultimately leads to your ability to tap into your authentic truth, creative energy and to step into the driver's seat of your life. I do not seek to heal you or "fix" you as I do not believe that anyone is broken. My goa is to help you feel supported and safe to release the fears, shift the beliefs and reclaim. This looks like: making decisions based on what you truly want, having and honouring healthy boundaries with yourself and others, doing the things that bring you joy, setting yourself free from anxiety, depression and trauma, connecting to your body, owning your unique gifts and so much more! In my offerings, I hope to nurture your own capability to heal yourself.

Dreams of the future

Simunye is a Zulu word meaning "We are one.”

It is the essence of unity, solidarity and community which is heavily tied into the African concept of Ubuntu - the spirit and approach to life based on understanding that, “I am what I am because of what we all are.” Having spent half of my life in South Africa, nearly half in New Zealand and now calling Australia home, as well as honestly, the rest of the world, I have found beauty in the similarities and unity between all humanity. Our diversity brings us more opportunity to learn from each other and grow together.

I dream of a world where we no longer see our unique features and backgrounds as cause for separation but instead live in harmony and compassionate love for one another and our Earth. My dream is to see how the real, impactful change within individual lives in my community will continue to spread far and wide. Every person who i supported and safely encouraged to express themselves to their fullest and unlock their inner spark for life has a powerfully positive effect on those around them. I believe social change begins on the individual level. And thus, Simunye Soulworks is born. Thank you for being here and I look forward to connecting with you. The love and light in me honours and respects the love and light in you.

Much Love,

Luna
